Roti manis

I bet evryone who ever live in penang would know what a roti manis is... It is a sweet bun... With kaya and margerine for its filling.. Somehow.. I'm addicted to it...  The best roti manis comes from the old patchee bakery.. Renown for its bengali bread.. Till now... I have no idea how or why is it call a bengali bread... Patchee bakery is one of penang heritage... And to those who visited penang.. This is one of the food u have to try

super junior cooking cooking = me!!!! (my first cooked meal)

As the titled above mentioned, last Thursday the new bride manage to cook her first meal for her husband. What is there for me to cook but the good ol' instant spaghetti sauce... search high and low for the perfect recipe on the net that would suite my taste buds... FYI, Spaghetti is my least favourite food--- that goes with all the Italian dish.... to me i hate something that is to sour and bland.... so the recipe that i found was perfect...

THE INGREDIENTS:-
  1. 1 jar of Heinz instant spaghetti sauce (not using Prego due to the circulation of pork minced as one of its ingredients)
  2. some chopped onions and garlic
  3. a whole tin of chopped button mushroom
  4. two table spoon of butter
  5. a dash of sugar and salt
  6. 30grams of shredded cheddar cheese
  7. ground black pepper
  8. and lastly two table spoon of Tabasco sauce

TADAAAAA!!!!!! the result

when I wanted to serve meal.... my heart skip a beat as i thought that i might disappoint him with my cooking... (my lack of confidence is due to having a grandma, and parents as great cooks... it doesn't quite help when ur sister is a chef too) As a University student who solely its bread as her 3times meal... cooking is somewhat not her forte.... even thou i took cooking classes when i was in my uni year.... without practised i became very rusty.... so what was the verdict of the Husband??????

Cooking with and Ash and Bold (part 2)

Ever since ash had food poisoning...we had vowed to cook are daily meals (and yes it is illegal for IIUM student to cook in their room.....) so yesterday dinner was--- fried rice

ingredients:-
1 packet of adabi perencah nasi goreng
2spoon of garlic spread
2 eggs
and 3 bowl of rice

methods use (which ottosan will slightly approve as we followed his teaching):-

melt the garlic spread in the rice cooker

add the adabi perencah nasi goreng and eggs..... leave it till its 1/2 boil..

then scramble ur eggs and add some flavour to it (u know the salt and sugar stuff)

put in the rice and stir em' well till desired....

and TADAAAAA the after product...

somehow i know that ottosan will disapprove of the dish for its lack of ingredient......

Cooking with and Ash and Bold

last night, me and Ash decided to put our cooking skill to the test..... we did an American breakfast for dinner... yes dinner....but there were no sausages.....
it turned out quite good even though we lack a few key ingredients like salt and onions....

the cooking tools that were use :- one small rice cooker
a mallet
a can opener
a pair of plastic fork and spoon...
the ingredients that we manage to scourge were: a loaf of wholemeal bread
4 eggs
1 box of dutch lady low-fat milk
6 packets of McDonald's pepper
2 packets of McDonald chili sauce
4 spoon of garlic spread
a small can of bake beans...

here we mixed the 2 spoon of garlic spread, half of the milk, some peppers and the egg.... then we star scramblin'......

then it was to the toast...... spreading garlic spread on the bread... somehow we got curios as to whether we could make a French toast using the sandwich maker... hence the creation of the partial French toast

and this are all the picture we took on how we manage to create the baked beans.... :D
a spoon of garlic spread....

pour the bake bean, milk and let it simmer

add 2 packets of McDonald sauce and 6 packets of pepper and let it boil...

and here its done :P

the tools that were use to open the cans

i just realize that small things that was done by ur loves one can change ur perception of ur whole day.... in the case of today my best friend payed a visit and i was not just miss grumpy but miss cranky too.... having to look after 5 toddlers can be challenging especially during this time..if u know what i mean....
then at 10.30 i was surprised that my brother told me that my fiancé came...... and bearing "kapitan's" clay-pot briyani's as a peace offering..... (its not like we had a fight or anything its just that i'm leaving for KL 2morrow).... since i had a craving for it since 2 weeks ago.... he remembered somehow........ and that really make my day... i just realize somehow good food and good company can make one hell of a day a better one.. i guess today i can sleep with a smile on my face.....

labour day-jalan2 cari makan

Today me and my fiancé was suppose to go out and satisfy my endless craving for Korean BBQ but to no luck... hahaue had all the plans laid out to us.... first stop is a kenduri kahwin or a wedding reception.... we had fish curry and acar..... very traditional like.... then the next stop was another kenduri which turns out to be my classmate bro's wedding.... and i had the usual nasi kenduri which is a blessing after eating all the un-penang food in kl.......
Then after all that as we were heading back home, hahaue ask me and my fiancé to check out one of the wedding venue.... seeing that I'm still hungry and ash had a craving for rojak ( rojak buah.... what the klians call em') we head out to Padang Kota Lama and had rojak and i had the traditional kacang kuda wraped in a newspaper.... then my fiancé took us to the best fresh sugar cane in Penang which is opposite of a Church new Anson road.... my mom told us that she start drinking that fresh air tebu every time she was pregnant with a child... and that is like 36 years ago.....
After that edos (the fiance) took us to market street to have the best samosa ever... just thinking bout it made me drool right now...... and he told my hahaue that the old merican nasi briyani is now back in business......... i'm happy :P

the air tebu... it looks exactly like this....

oooooo the lovely samosa
